Observations on the Book of Jonah

*This is another instance of God raising up not that great of a person to do his will--like in Judges.
*I wonder how we know what Jonah sang while he was down in the belly of the whale?
*The book of Jonah contains a lesson I really need to learn. Sometimes I think it's so unfair when someone who's a Christian does something mean to me, because I know that since they're a Christian, they won't be punished for it--but I, being an evil human being, want vengeance!
The book of Jonah illustrates the same problem. Jonah wanted the Ninevites to be punished like I want my fellow Christians to be punished. But Jonah & I must learn that these people are God's chosen children as well, and also that we deserve to be punished just as much as they do--though we may think to the contrary.

Gaaak!

Today I went to Bonnie's house and made Gak. It was soo much fun! We made blue and red marbled together. It was so pretty and so cool! I highly recommend making it if you haven't already. It is so much fun to play with, too. Amy (Bonnie's little sister) blew bubbles in it like bubble gum!

Glorify the Lord!

Today is Sunday--a blessed day of rest that comes once in every seven days. As you glorify the Lord today, praise Him for music. Isn't it amazing how music is both art and math? Pitches and counting are math, but expression is art. An artist can put notes together in a way that sounds good to the ear, and a mathemetician can tell you why it is, technically, that those harmonies sound good. Think about it and praise God for it today.

I just got back from Symphony rehearsal. In the middle of rehearsal, Dr. Cobbs--the director--called a little boy who was watching onto the stage. He told him to go around as we rehearsed, and look at the different instruments and decide which one he liked best. So he did. He decided he liked the violin the best. He was so cute!
